ELECTIVE WORKSHOPS A.Y. 2024-2025
Workshops are a vital part of both the academic curriculum and the overall learning experience. They meet various student needs: some focus on theoretical and methodological aspects, while others develop practical professional skills. Due to the nature of each workshop, spaces may be limited, and selection may be required.
Attendance is mandatory.

b) Excavation Workshops (open to all students)
Various excavation workshops will be offered at archaeological sites where Milano La Statale and Ca' Foscari University of Venice excavations take place. These may involve travel (typically 2-4 weeks) to sites located outside the region or abroad, usually between May and October. Changes may occur due to weather or organizational reasons.
Accommodation is typically provided for the duration of the excavation, while travel and meals are usually at the student's expense. Each workshop's lead instructor will provide further details to selected participants.
Milano La Statale Excavations:
Applications for these workshops open in Spring 2025. More details, including available excavations, registration procedures, and credit recording, will be available from early March 2025. Selection criteria are determined by the excavation project leader.
Selected students must complete safety training and undergo a medical exam to certify physical fitness. Each excavation workshop may award 3 ECTS credits. If a student is selected and needs to withdraw, proper justification (e.g., a medical certificate) is required, particularly for last-minute cancellations.
Ca' Foscari University of Venice Excavations:
For more information, contact Prof. Luigi Magnini (luigi.magnini@unimi.it).
Participation in excavation workshops grants 3 ECTS credits, which will be recorded according to the procedures set by the respective instructors.
