Internship
An internship (or traineeship) is a very important training experience encompassing different options:
· Students must participate in curricular internship: starting from the second year of the course, the ACCW programme includes 6 ECTS for compulsory Internships
· Those who have completed their study programme not more than 12 months ago can do extracurricular internships/traineeships.
The Study and Career Guidance Service COSP (Centro funzionale di Ateneo per l’Orientamento allo Studio e alle Professioni) manages setup procedures for internships in public and private companies and institutions aimed at enrolled students, graduands and postgraduates.
INTERNSHIPS
1. How to find a stage opportunity
Students can either select one of the available internship positions on the University noticeboard or find an internship by themselves.
For ACCW students: Please see a list of dedicated internship positions in the window beside this text, specifically tought for this BA-programme. If you intend to apply for one of these dedicated internship positions, you must contact Prof.ssa Palmieri and specify which project you would like to participate in.
In any case they must follow procedures established by the Study and Career Guidance Centre (COSP).
2. Internship procedure: find out how to start an internship on the dedicated section (see aside and below)
3. Academic tutor: the curricular internship training project is approved online by the academic tutor. Each degree programme has one or more academic tutors for internship activities.
4. Number of credits: the internship can award credits as approved by the academic tutor in the training project. As a rule, a 75 hours-internship will award 3 credits, 150 hours will award 6 credits.
5. Transfer credits: after completing the internship, in compliance with its official duration, the student must send the transfer credit application form (in pdf format) to: stage@unimi.it
ALTERNATIVE ACTIVITIES
Students may also apply for transfer credits for other activities (e.g. work, volunteering, training) related to their study plan.
Transfer credits: to apply for transfer credits, fill in the dedicated form and hand it in to the Student Registrar, on appointment, or submit it through the InformaStudenti service. Attach the certificate issued by the host institution, specifying total hours and a job description. You will receive an answer by email within 2 months, after the instructors in question have given their approval.
